Tampa Catholic Tuition Assistance (FACTS Grant and Aid Assessment)

  • All families are expected to apply and receive a State of Florida scholarship. Please visit https://www.fldoe.org/schools/school-choice/k-12-scholarship-programs/ to find the scholarship applicable for your student/family. 
  • Additional assistance from TC is based on the financial profile of the family AFTER confirmation of your State of Florida scholarship.
  • W2s, 1099s (if applicable), tax returns must be uploaded.
  • The FACTS application for need based assistance on top of the State of Florida scholarship opens mid-November each year.
  • Decisions are made on a rolling basis beginning in February and until all budgeted monies are dispersed.
  • Any FACTS awards are one-time awards and must be applied for each year at Tampa Catholic.

Diocesan Aid

Tuition assistance for Catholic Families from the Diocese of St. Petersburg

 

Diocesan Catholic School Tuition Aid Grant (CSTAG)

  • The CSTAG award is awarded by the Diocese for Catholic families. The FACTS application link above will be reviewed for Catholic families and is need based assistance as well.
  • The award is a one-time award and must be applied for each year at Tampa Catholic.
  • NEW for the 2024-25 school year - There will be an “early” decision round.
  • Early decision notifications will be made by March 15, 2024. To qualify for this early decision, applications will need to be submitted by February 1, 2024 for them to be reviewed and an early decision made no later than March 15th.
  • The final cutoff date is April 30, 2024, with decisions reviewed by mid-May.
 

Mary C. Forbes Foundation

  • Assistance is granted from the Foundation directly.
  • Mary Forbes grants are for Catholic families in the Diocese of St. Petersburg.
  • Eligibility is income based and may be used to supplement State of FL and TC assistance.
  • Please contact Mrs. Joanne Clarie at The Mary C. Forbes foundation - 727.560.6788.
  • Application deadline is April 30th each year.

 

Parish Assistance


Some parishes offer tuition assistance to their families. Check with your Pastor about any tuition assistance your parish may provide.

 

 

State of Florida Assistance

 

STATE SCHOLARSHIPS (you may only use 1)

Step Up for Students - Florida Tax Credit Scholarship (FTC) AND Florida Empowerment Scholarship (FES-EO).

 

AAA Scholarship

  • This is also a State of Florida scholarship, the AAA foundation being another servicer.  Scholarship is similar to FES, FTC and FES-UA. Tampa Catholic recommends you work with Step Up.
  • You may NOT receive it if you already have FES or Step Up.

Tampa Catholic Scholarship Programs

 

Pope Francis Merit Scholarship Award – (No Application Required, For Incoming Freshman Only)

The Tampa Catholic High School Pope Francis Merit Scholar Award is designed to attract and retain students whose scores on the High School Placement Test (HSPT) are in the top nationwide and who demonstrate exceptional scholastic ability.  Tampa Catholic will provide Pope Francis Merit Scholarship recipients with an annual award for each of their four years at our school.  The Pope Francis Merit Scholarships are separate from and, in some cases, supplementary to need-based financial aid awards offered by the Diocese of St. Petersburg and Tampa Catholic High School. These awards are offered at varying levels for students who take the HSPT in November and December. This scholarship cannot be applied for, it is awarded based on HSPT scores.


To renew the award each year, a Pope Francis Merit Scholar must achieve the following:

Maintain a minimum cumulative GPA of 3.5 
Be enrolled in Honors, Advanced Placement or Dual Enrollment courses in English, Math, Science and Social Studies 
Complete all required community service by the designated dates
Remain free of serious disciplinary referral 
If the scholarship is rescinded for any reason, it cannot be renewed in a subsequent year.

 

Elsa Zarate Memorial Scholarship Program – (Application Required, For Incoming Freshman Only)

The Zarate family established the Elsa Zarate Memorial Scholarship Program in 2007 to honor the memory of their mother. Designed to provide needed financial assistance to those families whose child wishes to pursue a Catholic education at Tampa Catholic High School. Awards (if any) are competitive within the eligibility criteria of this scholarship program. The program is focused on assisting qualified applicants who are well rounded students who show the importance of giving back to the community and fully participate in the mission of a Catholic education.
