Theater Director: Mrs. Joyce Mayhew
Joyce Mayhew has worked professionally as an actor and director for over 27 years. A NJ native, Mrs. Mayhew attended Carnegie Mellon University and then received her BA from Westmont College,in Santa Barbara,Ca where she began her career as a professional actor. Favorite Roles include the “White Witch” in the Lion, the Witch, and the Wardrobe, the “Queen Of Hearts” in Alice in Wonderland and “Gilmer” in Godspell. Voice over credits include “Firehouse Tales” and “Priscilla the Proton” for the Smithsonian Institute. She has directed over 100 productions including favorites such as Hairspray, a Midsummer Night’s Dream, Fiddler on the Roof , and the Crucible. Her Theatre Company in the Central Coast of California was nominated by Broadway World the “Best Youth Theatre Company of The Decade.” Later, Mrs. Mayhew attended graduate School at The University of Houston and worked in Title 1 schools in Texas. Now a Floridian, Mrs. Mayhew has directed 6 productions at TC. Since being director here at TC, Troupe 8254 has won many awards, honors and scholarships from Florida Thespians and Broadway Stars of the Future. Favorites include “Shipwrecked,” which won the district championship and performed at the state competition at the Straz Theatre. Her 3 grown children are her greatest productions!Voice Instructor: Dr. Mark Majeski
Dr. Mark Majeski is the Associate Superintendent of the Diocese of St. Petersburg and a dedicated voice coach with a passion for both education and music. A native of New Jersey, Dr. Majeski relocated to Florida in 2014 to serve as the Principal of St. Stephen Catholic School in Riverview, FL. With over 40 years of experience in education, Dr. Mejeski has taught students from first grade through college, served as a building principal, district administrator, and led professional development at local, regional, and national levels. His love for music has been a constant throughout his life—he has been a music director in Catholic churches since the age of 17. Dr. Majeski holds degrees from Montclair State University, Westminster Choir College (Rider University), Kean University, and an Ed.D. from The University of Nebraska–Lincoln. He and his wife Tricia have three children and one granddaughter.
