Transfer to TC

Transfer students are considered to start at the beginning of a semester (August and January) only when space permits. To apply as a 10th or 11th grade transfer student for August, the application opens in April (4 months prior.)  To apply as a 9th or 10th grade transfer student to start in January, the application opens in November (2 months prior.) Transfer applications cannot be completed prior to these timelines. Admission for transfer students is dependent on space availability as Tampa Catholic remains at maximum enrollment capacity.
 
During the specified time periods above, select the "Apply Now" button to create an account and complete the application. If your student has applied in a previous year, a new application must be completed. Please contact the admissions office at 813-870-0860 x121 for additional transfer information. Please review admission criteria below and Tampa Catholic Curriculum, as all transfer students must be on track to meet Tampa Catholic's graduation requirements. 

Transfer Student Admission Criteria

  • High school cumulative grade point average of 3.0 or higher
  • 50th percentile or higher on standardized tests
  • Satisfactory discipline and attendance records 
  • No deficient credits
  • Transfer affidavit from current school, form supplied by TC after applying
 
 

Transfer Student Process

Tampa Catholic does not accept applications for local (Tampa Bay region) seniors or juniors at the beginning of the second semester. If your family is relocating, admission can be considered if space permits. TC Tuition Assistance is not available for students transferring in the second semester. Families may apply for tuition assistance the following school year(s).

Note on Valedictorian & Salutatorian Eligibility: Students must have completed a minimum of five consecutive semesters at Tampa Catholic and be a model of exemplary behavior with no major disciplinary infractions.
 

STEP 1: COMPLETE AN APPLICATION

Apply Now allows you to create an online account to apply as a transfer student to Tampa Catholic  school year and submit the $75.00 (non-refundable) application fee.

Please save your log-in information as you will use this to enroll your student if accepted. Immediately after applying, you will be provided a confirmation email, further instructions, and a copy of the transfer affidavit.
 

STEP 2: REQUEST FOR RECORDS

We will need records from your student's current school, including a complete high school transcript, standardized test scores, and courses with grades in process. Only if the student is applying to transfer mid-year for 9th grade, middle school records are also required. It is the parent’s responsibility to request records from the student’s current school and get the transfer affidavit form completed.

Transfer students must be on track to graduate from Tampa Catholic.

Students who have documented special needs must provide the complete results of a psychological-educational evaluation (within the last 3 years). Please fax or email the information to the Admissions Office. Information is confidential.

After the required records and transfer affidavit are received, an Admissions Committee reviews the applicant's file and makes the final decision on admission.


STEP 3: NOTICE OF ADMISSIONS STATUS

The Admissions Department will send notification of admission status via email after the Admissions Committee review.
 
When a transfer applicant receives an acceptance letter to Tampa Catholic High School, he or she will also receive instructions for online enrollment as well as tuition and financial aid information.
