If you’ve ever stepped into a classroom with Grace Mercado, you know she brings a quiet brilliance and unmatched work ethic that sets her apart. Widely recognized by peers and teachers alike for her academic excellence, Grace is a true scholar with a deep passion for learning.
Grace is involved in an impressive list of honor societies—she currently serves as president of the Theological Honor Society and vice president of Mu Alpha Theta, and she’s a proud member of the Beta Club, Rho Kappa, and the Science, English, Hispanic, and National Honor Societies. Her commitment to intellectual growth is matched by her leadership in each of these communities.
Beyond academics, Grace has also made her mark in service and school spirit. She’s president of BEST (a club she's been involved in since freshman year), an executive member of Campus Ministry, and an Ambassador helping welcome prospective families to Tampa Catholic. She also played softball during her freshman through junior years.
When asked what she loves most about TC, Grace shared:
“My favorite thing about TC is the way in which it allows one to foster personal relationships with teachers and peers—from class sizes to the format of curriculum.”
She also credits TC’s strong academic offerings for helping shape her as a student:
“I love that TC offers a wide range of rigorous courses, allowing students to challenge themselves with harder classes while focusing on subjects of interest.”
Her favorite memory? The Kairos retreat in August 2024, which she describes as a life-changing experience that wouldn’t have been possible without Tampa Catholic.
After graduation, Grace will be heading to the University of Notre Dame to major in Applied and Computational Mathematics and Statistics with a minor in Theology.
There’s no doubt she’ll continue to shine—academically and beyond.
