May 31 Dear Students/Parents, It is with great pride that we say good-bye to the class of 2017. This group of students conducted themselves with style and class and contributed much to the legacy of Tampa Catholic High School. The class of 2017 was truly talented in many ways, spiritually, socially, academically and athletically. We are so proud of the $14 million in scholarships earned by this class and we look forward to their great future achievements. Best wishes and God Bless the Class of 2017!At the end of the year, it is only right to thank the many people who help make our school strong. Thank you to the parents and students for a wonderful 2016-17 school year. We value our partnership with you. This partnership makes Tampa Catholic a truly special place. Thank you to our amazing faculty and staff for putting our students first and for conducting yourself with professionalism and love. We have a great community and a school and we should all be proud. We begin June busily preparing for the 2017-18 school year. We look forward to welcoming the class of 2021 in the fall. We are pleased to announce that we will be welcoming a full class of 200 freshmen. Our enrollment remains strong, and we will begin the year beyond our optimal enrollment with a waiting list. Our administrative team will be hard at work this summer to ensure a smooth start in the fall. We also have some exciting new changes in store for next year. Some of these changes include: A cafeteria renovation to include new windows, A/C, ceiling and lights. This will allow us to upgrade the facility for all students and to make the cafeteria more functional for after school activities for our Cheerleaders and Crusaderettes. This project is now under way and will be complete upon the start of the new school year this fall. Construction of our new Administration Building and Student Service Center. In September, construction will begin on an addition and renovation to the existing Brother’s Residence on the south side of our campus. This will become the new “front door” of our campus and will consolidate all student services under one roof (guidance, admissions, ESE, main office, finance, advancement and facilities). This will be an 8-month project and will be completed and ready for use in the fall of 2018. We are pleased to be adding the following courses to our curriculum: AP Seminar (English), Spanish DE (seniors only), anthropology, contemporary literature and philosophy. Streamlining and enhancing of our service program (more details to come in the fall). The end of this year also brings some good-byes to staff members. Dr. Regina Silvia (7 years at TC), Denise Moore (28 years at TC) and Marie Culbert (41 years at TC) will all be retiring from education. We thank these great educators for their dedication and for a job well done. In the coming weeks we will be introducing you to our new faculty members. Have a restful and wonderful summer. We will be ready to welcome you back in the fall. Live Jesus in our hearts, forever! Sincerely, Robert C. Lees, Principal Please follow me on twitter at Bob Lees @TCPrincipal. I will be posting building updates throughout the summer.
