Back to School: From Principal Lees

Dear Tampa Catholic Parents and Students,Robert-Lees.jpg

Welcome back! What a blessing it is to begin the 2016-17 school year! The administration, faculty, and staff are excited to return and be of service to you and your children. Thank you for your investment in and continued support of Catholic education.  We are looking forward to having an outstanding year!

The idea of “growth” permeates everything we do. Our goal is to prepare students to meet life’s challenges, to be people of faith and love and to be prepared to lead tomorrow’s world. We will maintain a learning environment that will encourage students to grow in knowledge, character, and faith. At the end of their Tampa Catholic experience, we want our graduates to be able to lead successful and satisfying lives as they move on to college, a career and to family life.

It is with great pleasure that I begin my tenure at Tampa Catholic.  I would also like to welcome the following new staff members as they join the Crusader family this year: Tanya Aguirre (Science), Carole Byrd (English), Anthony Cappelluzzi (Math), Adam Farchone (Science), James Fuller (Math), Brother Francis Gammaro (Science), James Globokar (Dean of Student Life), Brenda Gonzalez (Math), Kevin King (Social Studies), Keaton Postler (English), Theresa Steinmeyer (English), and Brett Woodward (Student Support).

Please extend a warm welcome to our new staff members when you see them.  We are also pleased to report that Cheriese Edwards has moved from her position as Dean of Student Life to the role of Assistant Principal.

We have been working hard preparing our facilities, schedules and teachers to ensure a smooth start to the school year.  Our calendar of upcoming dates may be accessed at www.tampacatholic.org but I would like to highlight the following important dates/reminders:

July 28:   Course schedules will be emailed home.  Please remember that only those with all obligations met and service hours completed will receive schedules.

Please Note:  Please know that the schedules were created to assure that core classes were guaranteed. This includes theology and lunch. Guidance has done its best to then create the rest of the schedule around the students desired electives. However, there were times when this wasn't possible considering the very nature of the scheduling process and availability of classes. As a result, elective classes may not reflect a students desired choice. Therefore, schedules cannot be changed for elective choices, desired lunch periods, or teacher preferences. Thank you for understanding the time and effort it takes to create each individual schedule.

Enjoy your remaining days of summer.  I look forward to meeting our parents and students in person in the coming weeks.  God bless you!
