TC Women's Lacrosse Give Big for Christmas Toys to TGH Pediatric & More
With the help of the TC Community, Theology department and Mrs. Norden, the women’s lacrosse team put real meaning to the words “Merry Christmas!” Through their diligence and generosity, the team was successful in collecting almost 200 toys and gifts, along with nearly $1,000 in gift cards, for holiday donations to our local community. This was a huge increase over last year’s drive. In light of that success, the girls provided gifts not only to TGH pediatric patients but also to the Johns Hopkins All Children’s Hospital Oncology Unit, Hillsborough Hope, and Catholic Charities.
Head Lax Coach Joe Ferraro said of the out-pouring support, “I cannot tell you how proud I am of our Team and how appreciative I am of the Tampa Catholic High School Community. This is indeed a special school that knows how to back up the words: Merry Christmas!”
Tampa General Hospital Pediatric Center was provided with gifts for all 47 children in the unit - over $890 was in gift cards alone!
Junior Calyn Quinn also spearheaded a toy drive for Johns Hopkins All Children’s Hospital. Additional gifts from the drive were reserved for year-round giving to their patients.
Craig Latimer ’70, current Supervisor of Elections, helped distribute toys to Hillsborough Hope.
Lastly, Tampa Catholic was able to make a cash donation to Catholic Charities in the amount of $267.96.
Kudos to the young women of our lacrosse team for their diligent efforts and generosity to our community.
