Tampa Catholic High School is pleased to announce the appointment of Jeris McIntyre, a Class of 1999 alumnus, as the Crusader’s head football coach. Coach McIntyre has been an assistant offensive coach at TC for the past three years and replaces Mike Gregory who has decided to take a collegiate coaching position at Lyon College in Batesville, Arkansas.

He was drafted by Dick Vermeil and the Kansas City Chiefs as a wide receiver in 2004 and then played three seasons in the NFL with the Chiefs and one year with Rhein Fire in NFL Europe.

In welcoming McIntyre, Tampa Catholic principal Robert Lees thanked Gregory for his service as a coach.  “We are grateful to Coach Gregory for his five years of service as our head coach and wish him all the best in his new venture at the collegiate level.  We are blessed to have a strong and experienced coaching staff and to have someone of Coach McIntyre’s expertise and stature as head coach. He is well prepared to lead the Tampa Catholic football program. We are so proud to have one of our own take the reins of the program and we are truly excited for this next chapter of Crusader football.”
