Summer Reading 2020: Tampa Catholic students are expected and encouraged to further develop their literacy skills over the Summer in preparation for their upcoming English coursework. For this reason, each English course has a Summer reading assignment.
During the first weeks of school, students will be assessed on their understanding and comprehension of the texts. Students should be able to: comprehend the essential elements of their assigned text; reflect upon the overarching ideas; and make connections to self, other texts, and the world, with the understanding that the summation of their efforts may culminate in the classroom as a discussion, project, or writing assessment.
Summer Reading books may be purchased through your preferred vendor (Amazon, Barnes & Noble, etc.), borrowed from your local library, or downloaded as an e-book.
After you have downloaded and reviewed the Reading List PDF, please click on the blue course titles for further information. This includes the reading documents for English III and English III Honors.
If you have questions about Summer Reading, please contact the English department chairperson, Michelle Yingling.
