The class of 2021 has blessed Tampa Catholic’s Lenten journey by constructing hand-made Stations of the Cross. Our sophomores installed 14 crosses throughout campus with beautiful images and symbols to draw us deeper into the Passion of our Lord. The sophomores were assigned a specific Station of the Cross and were tasked with creating a prayer and reflection, as well as brining in an object associated with it to be left at the foot of the cross. The prayer services took place during Theology classes earlier in the month, but the crosses will be left up during the season of Lent. More than two hundred students have already utilized this traditional Catholic prayer, walking the Way of the Cross.

If you are unfamiliar with the Stations of the Cross, here is some additional information. The Stations of the Cross can be prayed at any time of the year but most Catholics enter into this prayer during the liturgical season of Lent. This unique prayer focusing on our Lord’s Passion, helping to draw us into His suffering. We may not be able to afford a pilgrimage to the Holy Land but we can prayerfully walk the Way of the Cross each Friday on our Lenten journey.
