Student/Athletes of the Month – August 2016

I am happy to announce our first two student/athletes of the month for 2016-17.  Our female student/athlete of the month is Angelina Graves.  Angelina is the captain of the Crusaderettes.  Her coach praised her for going above and beyond.  She choreographs many of the dance routines that you see at the football and basketball games.  She also gives up 4-5 hours of her time on weekends to work with the other girls on their routines.  She is an absolute team player and as a coach myself I don’t think you can get much more of a compliment than to be a team player.  Great job Angelina!

Our male student/athlete of the month is Joey Bell.  Joey is a senior on our cross-country team and has been on the team for all 4 of his years here at TC.  In fact he is the only one that has been a member for all 4 years.  When you talk about Joey the word that comes to mind is EFFORT.  He gives it his best all the time.   Joey may not be the fastest in every race but he gives his best every single meet even to the extent that he has gotten sick at the end of races as he has spent every last ounce of energy he has to cross that finish line.  Great job Joey!

Two things that this award is about is being a team player and giving great effort every day in all that you do.  This is something we want all of our athletes to strive for.  I also want to mention that it is a student/athlete award and both Angelina and Joey have over a 3.5 GPA.  This is something else that we want all of our student/athletes to strive for.  Be the best you can be in the classroom as well as on the field of play.

We are extremely proud of both Angelina and Joey.
