Happy Cinco De Mayo!

As you read my blog this week I am in Tuscaloosa, AL getting ready to celebrate my daughter Gracie’s graduation from the University of Alabama.  For those of you who will be celebrating a graduation from TC in several weeks I will tell you that the time goes by much too quickly.  I can remember Gracie’s graduation from TC like it was yesterday and now she will be a college graduate. How does this happen so quickly? Be sure that you take stock of the joyous times and enjoy all of them.  Time surely does fly by.

Cell_Softball.jpgSOFTBALL:  Congratulations to our softball team as they become another TC team that is a district champion.  In a great championship game last week our girls defeated The Academy of Holy Names 4-3 at the Eddie C Moore softball complex in Clearwater.  Yesterday the team hosted The First Academy out of Orlando in the regional semifinal.  I am writing this before that game so hopefully we have advanced to the regional which will be next Tuesday here at TC.  If we win both of our regional games we would go on to the State Tournament the following week.

BASEBALL: Our baseball team opened district tournament play on Tuesday with a 10-4 win over Brooks DeBartolo.  This put the team into the district semifinal yesterday evening against Calvary Christian.  Calvary entered that game with a 24-0 record and ranked #5 in the entire country.  It’s a big task for our team, but I am confident that we played well and pulled off the upset.  If that was the case,  we would advance to the championship game tonight at 7:00.  The district is being played at Calvary Christian in Clearwater.

TRACK: Seven of our track athletes are participating in the state track meet held at IMG Academy in Bradenton this weekend.  They advanced by virtue of their performances in the Regional Track meet last week.
