It’s hard to believe that some of our fall sports are getting ready for their district tournaments next week, but that’s what happens when time flies. Although the weather sure makes us think that it’s still summer, we know that we have moved into the fall and hopefully the weather will start to get cooler for us. Although I don’t think I want to trade our weather with Denver as it was snowing there the other day.
FOOTBALL:: Our varsity football team travels to Cypress Creek in Pasco county for a game tonight. We have put together back to back wins and now have the most points of the teams in our region according to the FHSAA point system that we are using this year.
CROSS COUNTRY: Our cross country teams travel to CCC today for a race. They also will be running in the county championships on Monday at Al Lopez Park. Districts are the following week also at Al Lopez so our runners will get a good look at the course.
VOLLEYBALL: Our volleyball teams (Varsity and JV) travel to Bishop McLaughlin this evening for their last regular season matches of the season. The district tournament starts on Monday and we will be playing here in The Castle against CCC. The semifinals are on Tuesday with the championship match on Thursday, all here in the Castle. The district champion and runner-up both advance to the Regional.
GOLF: Our golf teams will be heading to the Eagles Golf Club on Tuesday for their district matches. We are also the host for this event.
SWIM: Our swim teams are preparing themselves for the district meet which will be held at Berkeley Prep next Sat. Oct. 21.
CREW: Our crew teams are just getting started with their fall season and have their first regatta tomorrow. They will be rowing right here on the Hillsborough River on a course that goes from the Columbus St. bridge past the TC dock and ends just south of the Hillsborough Ave. bridge. The regatta starts at 6:55AM so get here bright and early.
As you can see all of our fall teams are very busy with their seasons. Any support you can give them will be greatly appreciated. We are all involved with developing Crusader Champions: on the field, in the classroom, and in the community. GO TC!!
