End of The Year

This is the final blog of the school year. I hope you have enjoyed reading my thoughts and the happenings in our athletic department here at TC. It has been a wonderful year for me, my first as the Athletic Director and my 27th overall here at TC. I have spent close to half of my life affiliated with Tampa Catholic and I don’t think a day goes by that I don’t count my blessings. When I moved to Florida in 1983 I certainly wouldn’t have predicted that I would still be at Tampa Catholic. I left TC for 5 years from 1986-1991, but returned to the place I now call home. I hope that your association to this great school has been as good for you as it has been for me.

Congratulations are in order to one of our outstanding basketball players, sophomore Kevin Knox who just recently was selected to represent the United States in international basketball competition in Argentina next week. After a vigorous week-long tryout at the U.S. Olympic training facility in Colorado Springs, Kevin was selected to the 12-man USA 16U national team. 29 of the best under 16 year old players from around the country were selected to try out. It was quite an honor just to be one of those 29, but to make the 12 man team is truly a great achievement. We are sure that Kevin will do an outstanding job representing our country both on and off the court.

I want to wish everyone a happy and prosperous summer. Students enjoy your time off, parents put your kids to work, and let’s all return next August with the vigor to make Tampa Catholic even better than what it now is. We are all a big part of TC.
