History is being made as you read my blog this week. For the first time in the history of Tampa Catholic the football team is in New Jersey to play Bergen Catholic in a game tomorrow at 2:30. We believe that this is the first time that TC football has played out of the state of Florida. Besides the actual football game on Saturday the team is getting a chance to experience New York City. A dinner cruise was planned for Thursday evening taking the team around Manhattan. On Friday the team will be touring The City. One of the sites that the team is sure to see is the 9/11 Memorial. It should be a memorable trip for the team, coaches, administrators, and me.
It is our understanding that Bergen Catholic will be streaming the game live on Saturday. The link to their page is https://gobleachers.com/bergencatholic. If that doesn’t work for you I would suggest that you Google Bergen Catholic, go to their website and navigate around to find the game.
I have been fortunate to have visited New York City on several occasions and it never seizes to amaze me. It truly is a city that never sleeps. Many years ago I took our basketball team to New York. We had a Friday night game scheduled against Iona Prep and I knew we were in for a long game after having toured the city all day. It was the Christmas season and who wouldn’t want to be in New York during the holiday season. With our football game on Saturday I’m hoping that our players will be ready to take on a tough Bergen team who enters the game with a 1-0 record. All of our excursions and tours in the city will take place on Thursday evening and Friday. The team will practice Friday morning before hitting the city.
Please check our athletic calendar for a schedule of all of our athletic events. I will return next week for a full account of our trip. GO TC!
