The 2017 Cross and Shield is in the books and was an elegant night to Celebrate Our Crusader Family. 2017 Cross and Shield chair Debbie Jackson P'17 and her organizing committee and volunteers transformed the Marriott Waterside into a grand TC party. Thanks go to our host and emcee Michelle Gingras '08 and our auctioneer Chad Lazzara '90, P '19 for the stellar job they did.
A total of $118,700 was raised to benefit the much-needed administration and cafeteria renovation projects, as well as to continued funding for our tuition-assistance program.
Craig Latimer '70 was honored and inducted into the Order of the Crusader Templar for his service to TC and the community.
Proceeds from the Cross and Shield provides critical funds that are used now in educating and forming today's students - young men and women who are strong in our traditions of Faith, Excellence & Family.

Craig Latimer ’70 will be awarded the Order of the Crusader Templar at the 2017 Cross and Shield. The Order of the Crusader Templar is the highest honor bestowed by Tampa Catholic and honors the accomplishments of the inductees and their service to the community.
Craig has served Tampa Catholic High School and the Tampa community in many ways since graduating from TC in 1970. After completing his degree at the University of South Florida he joined the Hillsborough County Sheriffs’ office where he served and protected the community for 35 years in law enforcement, retiring as a Major from the Hillsborough County Sheriff’s Office in 2008. Craig also serves our community as a volunteer. He is on the board of A Kid's Place, Inc., the Central Florida Behavioral Health Network, BAYS Florida, and he is an Honorary Commander for the 6th Medical Group at MacDill Air Force Base.
At Tampa Catholic, Craig has served as a member of the Tampa Catholic, Inc. Board of Trustees, as a member of the TC Consultative Board. He has also served on school strategic and facility master planning committees.
Since 2009, he has led a turnaround in the elections office, restoring integrity, efficiency and confidence in the elections process. His contributions to the office include leadership and accountability, timely and accurate reporting of results, impartiality and nonpartisanship, a renewed commitment to ethics and professionalism, excellent customer service, and responsible and conservative stewardship of taxpayers' funds. Craig is the first Supervisor of Elections in the state to earn the prestigious Governor's Sterling Award for performance excellence, and was recently re-elected to a second term as Supervisor of Elections.
