Aug 25 Fall Sports Updates Volleyball: What a way to start off the season! In a 5 set barnburner our volleyball team defeated Seffner Christian on Tuesday, winning the 5th and final set 15-13. If you were there you know what an exciting match it was. Volleyball plays again Thursday night but this blog is being written before that match. Our JV volleyball team will be traveling to Bradenton Saturday to play in the Southeast tournament. The Varsity travels to Shorecrest on Monday and returns to The Castle next Thursday for a match against CCC. Football: The weather wiped out our varsity pre-season classic last Friday. Lightning caused the game to be cancelled in the first quarter with Gaither leading 14-13. The team will play their first game next Fri., Sept. 2 here at TC against Admiral Farragut. Game time is 7:00pm. The Dad’s Club is sponsoring a tailgate party before the game. Get here early to partake in some of the festivities. Cross country: The cross-country teams travel to Wesley Chapel Saturday morning for their first meet. You’ll have to get up early as the meet starts at 7:30am. Golf: The weather also played havoc with our first golf match last Tuesday. The teams only got in 6-7 holes in their match last Tuesday at Rogers Park. The boys’ team played yesterday at Cheval. Golf will be busy next week with matches on Monday, Tuesday, and Thursday. Swim: The swimmers have hit the water and are preparing for their first meet next Thursday at Cypress Greene where we will swim against Armwood and Middleton. Crew: Plans are in the works for a new dock on the river for our crew team. Crew has been conditioning to get in shape for their season. I hope to see you at some of our events. Don’t forget about purchasing a Punch Pass to save yourself a little bit of money. Remember we are all involved with developing Champions; on the field of play, in the classroom, and in the community. GO TC!!
