TC's ThinkPink Club Makes Strides for Cancer Research

TC's ThinkPink Club had a big turn out in support of Making Strides of Hillsborough held last Saturday at the Amalie Arena. There were about 30 students and 15 parents who participated on that first day of gorgeous fall weather in Tampa.  It was the biggest donation made so far from TC totaling $3200. Ms. Yingling's Think Club donated $1000 and $2200 was donated by TC families and their friends.  An additional $1000 was donated for this cause this past week to one of our very own TC family’s.

We had our very own survivor who led the 3 mile walk along the scenic Bayshore Boulevard. Marnee Long, mother of Lauren, a freshman at TC is a 7 year survivor.   Ms. Yingling also ran into survivor Ivy Peterson, mother of Suzanne ’10 and Cole ’16.  Suzanne Peterson was one of the founding members of TC’s ThinkClub in honor of her mother.

19,000 walkers including dogs, babies in strollers, kids and adults all helped the American Cancer Society raise $725,000 in an effort to save lives from breast cancer.

More work needs to be done to find a cure so let us all strive to help our own ThinkPink club in all their future endeavors. Next ThinkPink event is coming up at the basketball game on December 6th. See you all at the Castle!
