The Crusader Classic Golf Tournament began in 1996 as a fund and friend-raising event for the Tampa Catholic High School Crusader athletic teams and has raised tens of thousands of dollars. In 2010 the tournament was renamed the Nick DiMaggio Crusader Classic Golf Tournament in honor of long-time Tampa Catholic athletic director and coach Nick DiMaggio.

The tournament is played at Tampa Palms Golf and Country Club and is played in a four-man best ball scramble format. There is a blind handicapping system determined by the pro at Tampa Palms Golf and Country Club. Prizes are given for the lowest scoring foursome, and to the individual with the longest drive and shot closest to the pin.
In addition to a great day of golf the Nick DiMaggio Crusader Classic features multiple food and drink holes and contests courtesy of the many friends of TC athletics. It is a fund day for the accomplished golfer and the beginner.
Registration for the 2012 DiMaggio Crusader Classic is open. Registration is limited to the first 144 golfers.
