Help Turn the Lights On!
at the Tampa Catholic
Baseball and Softball Fields!
Tampa Catholic's baseball and softball programs have a legacy of sportsmanship and winning unmatched by any other school in our area. In the school's forty-nine year history, the Men's baseball teams have won nine state titles, with the Lady Crusader softball program adding two state championships. Both teams have won numerous district and regional titles and runner-up finishes, making us one of the elite programs in the state.
Tampa Catholic's baseball and softball programs have always played without the benefit of lighting for their fields. This represents a hardship for our programs on several levels - both programs must schedule all of their games in the afternoon to complete games before dark. It also forces families to leave work or school early if they wish to attend our games.
Recognizing the important role that athletics plays in the overall education and formation of our students, Tampa Catholic is committed to providing our athletes and fans state of the art venues in which to compete. Tampa Catholic, with input from its baseball and softball coaching staffs, has gathered bids to light the baseball and softball fields.
The Lights On! campaign will raise the $250,000 in cash or equivalent materials and services necessary to install a quality lighting system that is equal to the lighting at our football stadium and conforms to the requirements of the pertinent City of Tampa ordinance which allowed us to install lighting for football.
We ask the members of our Tampa Catholic family to support this campaign in one of the following ways:
• Make a cash donation.
• Make an in-kind donation of materials or of services that will be performed in the installation of the lighting.
