The Girls lacrosse team has started the 2010 season and is remaining a FSHAA
varsity team. This is the only girls’ varsity lacrosse team in the Tampa area. They compete in a district with five
other Orlando teams. The team has three returning seniors and 1 returning
junior. Several new girls have joined the team. The returning girls are working
hard to help develop the 2010 team. This is a young team with a lot of
enthusiasm and spirit. The girls practice rain, shine or mud as shown in the picture. The 2010 Team
Captains are from left to right: Lauren Murphy ‘10, Julia Mergens ‘10 and Chevonne Shadwick ‘10. The 2010 roster and schedule are available on the
school website. We invite you to join us for a match.
Girls Softball – A New Season
Lady Crusader Softball is back with our veteran coaching staff: Randy Martinez, Wayne Piazza, Dick Sanders, and head coach Vern Tatum leading us
into another successful season. Returning Seniors, Chelsea Conlan, Alyse Johnson, Christina Martinez, Christina
Piazza, Tarah Revels, and Kathryn Spack join a super talented group of
returning juniors, sophomores and a number of high energy freshmen behind them.
The season officially started on February 11 with a win over Bishop McLaughlin
and continues through April
16th in a close-out game with Land O Lakes High. Come on out and support our team; you can find us behind the football field
along the river. Concessions, good ball and a fun time await you.
Christina Martinez ‘10 is second in hitting in the nation with a .818 batting average. That includes
all public and private schools in the United States. Congratulations to
Christina!
Tory Bohanan makes news in ESPN Rise Magazine. They comment that she is poised
to be a top notch player. Keep an eye on her!
