Lights On! Campaign
Tampa Catholic's softball and baseball programs have a legacy of sportsmanship and winning unmatched by any other school in our area. In the school's forty-nine year history, the Lady Crusader softball program has won two state championships with the Men's baseball teams winning nine state titles.
Tampa Catholic's softball and baseball programs have always played without the benefit of lighting for their fields. This represents a hardship for our programs on several levels - both programs must schedule all of their games in the afternoon to complete games before dark. It also forces families to leave work or school early if they wish to attend our games.
Recognizing the important role that athletics plays in the overall education and formation of our students, Tampa Catholic is committed to providing our athletes and fans state of the art venues in which to compete. Tampa Catholic, with input from its baseball and softball coaching staffs, has gathered bids to light the baseball and softball fields.
The Lights On! campaign will raise the $250,000 in cash or equivalent materials and services necessary to install a quality lighting system that is equal to the lighting at our football stadium and conforms to the requirements of the pertinent City of Tampa ordinance which allowed us to install lighting for football.
