Winter Sports Updates 2017

Wet And Slippery Court

The TC-Jesuit basketball game now has an unfinished game added to the storied history of this rivalry.  Last Friday at Jesuit the officials called the game due to unsafe conditions on the court.  The court was very wet and slippery and players as well as officials couldn’t get any traction on the court.  With the Crusaders leading 31-25 at the 6:43 mark in the third quarter the game was called.  It will not be made up, although we did make every effort to offer to complete the game here at TC.  Jesuit was not in favor of that. The next TC-Jesuit game will be here in The Castle on Feb. 3.  This game will be televised by Brighthouse (now Spectrum).  The start time for that game will be at 7:00 with JV to start at 5:15.

Besides the wet and slippery conditions at Jesuit last Friday the boys team continues to play well, now having a 12-2 record and #1 ranking in all area polls.  The team travels to Clearwater this evening (Friday night) to play CCC, who with a 14-2 record is tied with us for first place in the district.  CCC is expecting a sell-out crowd as they have their hall of fame inductions coinciding with our game and their AD didn’t know if they would even have enough room for our cheerleaders.

GIRLS HOOPS: Big game this evening (Friday night) here in The Castle against AHN.  Our girls are having an unbelievable season as they stand at 19-1 heading into tonight’s game.  Tip-off is scheduled for 7:30 with JV starting at 6:00.

GIRLS SOCCER: The girls’ soccer team heads to Land O’Lakes Friday night for their final regular season game.  Next week the district tournament will be held at CCC.  The girls are currently 8-9-1 on the season.

BOYS SOCCER: The boys’ soccer team travels to Cardinal Mooney this evening (Friday night) and have 3 more regular season games left next week before they enter district tournament play the following week here at TC.  The boys are 3-6-6 so far but 2-0-2 in the district.

SPRING SPORTS: The spring sports are ready to kick into gear in the next couple of weeks: Lacrosse, baseball, softball, tennis, track, and crew.
